Job Summary

Administers care that is individualized and consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice. Reports to RN any change in patient condition, administers medications, and functions independently within area of practice.

Demonstrates clinical skills for work area, completes unit specific skills/competencies, demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in delivery of care, incorporates patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under direction of the RN, adjusts work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions, fosters team building spirit (assist new staff integration), contributes to plan of care and its implementation, maintains safe working environment, fosters positive public relations with patients, families and staff.

Medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs, hands‑on nursing care and some heavy lifting required. Current CPR, 1 year post licensure nursing experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
