Job Summary: Administers care that is individualized and is consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice. This includes reporting to RN any change in patient condition, administering medications, functioning independently within area of practice, and demonstrating clinical skills for work area. The role also involves incorporating patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under the direction of the RN, adjusting work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions, and fostering team building spirit.
Responsibilities include medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKG's, hands-on nursing care, and some heavy lifting. Current CPR and 1 year post-licensure nursing experience are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications: Work Days - Evenings/Nights, Alternating weekends, 2/3 major holidays.
