Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Alabama is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver efficient and compassionate nursing care under the supervision of an RN. You will evaluate patients, contribute to assessments and care planning, administer medications, and supervise unlicensed staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Eligible candidates must be a graduate of an approved practical nursing program and licensed or pursuing licensure, with current BLS/CPR certification as required by state practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program.
• Currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing or pending licensure.
• Maintain current BLS/CPR certification as required by practice setting.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction.

• Evaluate patients/residents to collect data, observe condition and report changes in condition.
• Contribute to nursing assessments and care planning.
• Administer medications and performs treatments per physician orders.
• Supervise and monitor patient care provided by unlicensed staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing.
• Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing or pending licensed practical nurse licensure.
• Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification if employed at a skilled nursing center or as required by the state of practice if an assisted living facility.
