Responsibilities

Devereux Florida provides services to children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral health needs who live on site while in treatment. The position ensures client care by providing medications, ensuring regular medical checkups, keeping medical files up to date, and maintaining open communication with clients’ families and medical staff (doctors, therapists, other nurses). The role supports a therapeutic environment while ensuring the safety and well‑being of the individuals served.

Schedule

• 12 hour shifts (7am - 7pm) or 8 hour shifts (3pm - 11pm)
• Must be available for 1 weekend shift per week

Schedule is full‑time or part‑time with flexible options.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: Starts at $23.00 - $26.22 /hr (rate increases based on education and relevant experience)
• Up to $7.50 shift differentials for evenings and weekends
• Up to 24 PTO days per year (increases with service)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Associate’s Degree or Diploma (required)
• Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida

Other Requirements

• Must complete a two‑week new hire orientation class in Titusville, FL (Mon‑Fri, 9am‑5pm)
• 2 years of nursing experience or prior experience in DJJ, IDD, or psychiatric population (preferred)
• Valid Florida driver's license
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Pass pre‑employment medical screenings: drug test, physical, TB test
• Proficient in nursing assessment skills and basic software programs
• Pass Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida
