Job description

Reporting to Women’s Health Leadership, the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) contributes to nursing practice standards as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. The LPN supports the vision, mission, values, and performance measures of Montefiore Medical Center for Women’s Health OB/GYN.

The LPN participates in performance improvement and research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The LPN exhibits core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served. They are committed to maintaining nursing standards and are responsible for delivering care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or elderly patients within their scope of practice. The LPN is also responsible for high-level disinfection and maintenance.

Please note: This position may require travel to other Women’s Health OB/GYN locations within NYC and Westchester areas (Eastchester, Scarsdale, Bronx East, Grand Concourse, Hartsdale, Wakefield, Weiler, and Moses campuses) as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration to practice as an LPN in New York State
• One year of experience in Women’s Health OB/GYN preferred; Phlebotomy skills are a plus
• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral, along with interpersonal skills
• Basic Life Support certification
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems
