Job summary

Western Home Communities is seeking a caring Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our award-winning team in Madrid. You will provide compassionate resident care, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the nursing team to meet residents' needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state board-approved school.
• Currently licensed in Iowa.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to achieve it.
• This is an hourly position, which means you must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays as required/needed.
• Exceptional attendance.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicates resident needs with physicians and immediate supervisor.
• Maintains awareness of the condition of all residents under their care.
• Accurately administers all medications, treatments, and physician orders; taking ultimate responsibility for resident care.
• Confers with Director of Nursing on an ongoing basis with special problems of care, resident transfers, management of workload, etc.
• Coordinates preparation and planning of resident admission; giving proper recognition to the real and potential contribution of family and others in planning nursing care.
• Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents, and emotional support to families.
• Supervises, assists, consults with, and teaches certified nursing assistants
