Key Responsibilities
- Under RN supervision, assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in the Health Care Unit and housing units; contribute to individualized treatment planning and consult with RN and staff as needed.
- Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners; administer medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and perform diagnostic tests per established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the start of each shift and adhere to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions; respond to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures; implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans; document nursing encounters using SOAP charting to ensure effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions; demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
- Prefer a minimum of one year of clinic experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
