Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide, oversee and coordinate resident care on assigned shifts under the direction of the Director of Nursing. This role includes clinical supervision of CNAs, ensuring continuity of care and serving as a resource for residents, families and staff.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Michigan.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• 1–2 years nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
• Completes performance evaluations for CNAs/STNAs.
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns.
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Education

Current state license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment
