Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Care to the residents, including but not limited to: feeding, bathing, dressing, assisting with ambulation. Supervising meals.
  • Make necessary doctor's appointments for residents if their care needs to be maintained outside of the facility.
  • Meet with family members regarding resident concerns, and residents plan of care.
  • Document on all care provided in the resident's medical record.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and lead by example
  • Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift
  • Complete and file required record-keeping forms/charts and chart nurse's notes in a clear and descriptive manner
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility
  • Monitor and supervise your assigned personnel to ensure compliance with established safety regulations and procedures
Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with a current unencumbered state license (RI)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
  • Current CPR Certification is required
