Job summary

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our night-shift team at the Niagara County Jail in Lockport, NY. The role involves emergencies, screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick calls, and chronic care clinics, with support to physicians, psychiatrists and dentists.

The FT Night shift runs 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM. Competitive hourly pay at $30.00 base plus differential up to $5.50 per hour, with full benefits and orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates/patients.

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work full-time on the night shift in the medical department at the Niagara County Jail located in Lockport, NY. Nurses are involved in healthcare emergencies, physical health assessments, initial screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick call, and chronic care clinics. Nurses will also provide assistance to physicians, psychiatrists and dentists.

Available Shift

FT Night (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)

Job Responsibilities

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick call for patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.

This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff.
