You will perform healthcare duties including emergencies, screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick calls, and chronic care clinics alongside physicians, psychiatrists and dentists. You will maintain electronic medical records, ensure confidentiality, and collaborate with medical staff to implement care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and disseminate information to appropriate personnel.

• Conduct sick calls and treat illnesses/injuries per protocol and with Medical Director approval.
• Observe, report and document symptoms; participate in care planning.
• Record, retrieve and file medical information in inmate/patient records.
• Two-week orientation with on-the-job training and shadowing.

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work part-time on the evening shift in the medical department at the Steuben County Jail located in Bath, NY. Nurses are involved in healthcare emergencies, physical health assessments, initial screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick call, and chronic care clinics. Nurses will also provide assistance to physicians, psychiatrists and dentists.

Available Shifts: PT Eve (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), PRN

Job Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

- Conducting sick call for patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. Medical Director.

- Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care.

- Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.

This position provides a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

Salary Description: $30.00 / Hour base rate plus shift differentials up to $5.00 / Hour
