Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established care plans, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms, vital signs, and changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed and within scope of practice.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and documentation.
- Support physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the care team with clinical tasks.
- Maintain accurate and timely charting in electronic or paper medical records.
- Educate patients and family members on care instructions, health maintenance, and follow-up needs.
- Follow infection control, safety, and privacy standards at all times.
- Respond appropriately to urgent patient needs and elevate concerns when necessary.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative care environment.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the applicable state or jurisdiction.
- Completion of an approved practical nursing program.
- Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.
- Knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care practices, and documentation standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safe, compassionate care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a clinical, long-term care, outpatient, hospital, or similar healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic health records and routine clinical documentation.
- Familiarity with wound care, medication administration, and patient education.
