Job summary

Midwest Center of Youngstown is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for night shifts to join our clinical team and support patients in detox and recovery programs. You will administer medications, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, effective care.

The ideal candidate holds a current LPN license with CPR certification, psychiatric nursing experience, and experience with electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in good standing.
• 1+ years of LPN experience in detox or similar treatment facility.
• State LPN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Psychiatric Nursing experience required.
• Electronic Health Record experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and record all aspects of patient care
• Conduct nursing assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide daily assessments
• Oversee the medical and psychiatric management of patients, including coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure proper administration, reconciliation, storage, and security of all medications
• Make sound judgments and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Nights in Youngstown

Join the Midwest Center of Youngstown team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with addiction. As a key member of our clinical team, you will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive nursing care.

About the Role

As an LPN at Midwest Center of Youngstown, you will be responsible for providing medical and psychiatric management to patients, educating them on their condition, and assisting with their detox process. You will work varying shifts, including nights, and be expected to make independent decisions within the scope of your license.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and record all aspects of patient care
• Conduct nursing assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide daily assessments
• Oversee the medical and psychiatric management of patients, including coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure proper administration, reconciliation, storage, and security of all medications
• Make sound judgments and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Requirements

• Current LPN license in good standing
• 1+ years of experience as an LPN in a detox or similar treatment facility environment (preferred)
• State LPN license in good standing
• Current CPR certification
• Psychiatric Nursing experience required
• Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal pain and of a critically dangerous medical emergency and respond appropriately
• Electronic Health Record experience
