Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)-Specialty Care position is within the Specialty Clinic of Nursing Service at the Audie L. Murphy VAMC in San Antonio, Texas.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  1. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen; non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy.
  2. Education: Graduate from an approved school of practical or vocational nursing, accredited by the NLNAC or approved by the relevant State agency.
  3. Licensure: Full, active, and unrestricted licensure as an LPN/LVN in the U.S. or District of Columbia.
  4. Physical Standards: As per VA Directive and Handbook 5019.
  5. English Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.

Grade Determinations: Ranges from GS-3 to GS-6, with specific experience and knowledge requirements outlined for each level, including demonstration of nursing skills, knowledge of procedures, emergency response, and ability to work independently.

Duties

The LPN/LVN will provide nursing support across various specialties including Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Oncology, and others.
