C002 Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse‑Surgical Tech (LPN‑ST) to support patient care in the surgical setting. The LPN‑ST will prepare sterile supplies and equipment and assist the surgical team while ensuring compliance with nursing laws.

The ideal candidate must have graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program, hold a valid LPN license in South Carolina, and possess current BLS certification. This role requires effective communication and teamwork within a fast-paced operating room environment.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse‑Surgical Tech (LPN‑ST) reports to the RN Team Coordinator. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the LPN‑ST provides individualized, goal‑directed and family‑centered patient care and functions as a member of the operating room team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies, instrumentation and equipment used in surgical procedures.
• Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care, adhering to established procedural guidelines.
• Interact with surgical team members and assist in the care of patients.
• Maintain safe and effective care in accordance with nursing laws governing South Carolina.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and license as an LPN within South Carolina or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, either from the AHA BLS or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• One year of LPN experience preferred.
• Ability to perform job functions under RN direction in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health.

• Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected.
