Licensed Practical Nurse II - Central and Western Region - Full and Part-Time Positions

This is an open and continuous posting for Full-Time and Part-Time positions on multiple shifts throughout the Central/Western Region of the Department of Developmental Services. The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) seeks compassionate nursing professionals to apply for our LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE II (LPN II) positions.

This is an excellent nursing opportunity for potential candidates interested in furthering their career and broadening their experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The LPN II is the second level in the series, delivering care to individuals in community residential settings. Our LPNs develop relationships and work with individuals, family members, significant others, provider agencies, and other parties to improve health and quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional nursing care and oversight by implementing individuals' health care plans, including charting vital signs, applying dressings, and administering medications as prescribed.
  • Assist with daily maintenance, personal care, and support services outlined in the Individual Service Plan (ISP); maintain records and initiate referrals for medical services.
  • Engage in referrals for health-related protections; communicate health issues to staff and families; inform staff of medical concerns.
  • Order medications, maintain supplies, and initiate emergency procedures such as first aid, CPR, tracheotomy care, and catheterizations.
  • Transport individuals to appointments and community activities as needed.
Position Requirements
  • Must possess a current, active LPN license in Massachusetts.
  • Must hold a valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
  • Maintain BLS certification.
