Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Night Shift

Location: Rome, GA
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $32 per hour
Sign‑on Bonus: $2,000 (available)
Schedule: 7 pm–7 am, rotating weekends off
Maximum Patient Caseload: 4
Reports To: Regional Nursing Director

Job Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Observe, assist with gathering health‑related data, and report health needs to the registered nurse.
• Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for patients.
• Document nursing care and conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency.
• Assist physicians during on‑site medical clinics where applicable.
• Conduct medication closest assessments and perform quality assurance checks for unlicensed personnel.
• Observe and report any abnormal health findings to physicians.
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Advocate for patients and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited licensed nurse program.
• Current LPN license with no restrictions on practice.
• Current CPR certification or eligibility to certify.
• Full compliance with federal and state licensing requirements.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize tasks.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally 40 lbs. Required to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Hand use for operating tools and controls, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform CPR from floor level. Vision and hearing are essential; deaf/ hard‑of‑hearing employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The job is performed in various on‑site and home settings.
