Job summary

WyndStone is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care under the supervision of the Administrator and Health Director. You will assess Elders, oversee nursing treatments, and collaborate with medical staff to determine appropriate care.

You will maintain and implement care plans, document accurately, participate in family meetings, and assist with admit/discharge processes.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as a Montana LPN; health care experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to respond promptly to elder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to residents and oversee nursing treatments.

The WyndStone nurse works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, medical staff, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and safe environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: NursingProvides nursing care to residents of Wyndstone by assessing Elders and overseeing the administration of nursing treatments. Works closely with providers to determine appropriate care.Promote and ensure professional standards of nursing care and elder satisfaction with both elder and family involvement; observes elder status as necessary to assure quality care and coordinates with the rest of the Wyndstone care team to assure continuity of care.Identify changes in condition; provide assessment, identify needs, communicate with providers, and initiate/direct treatments or interventions.Responds to and leads emergency situationsPerforms record keeping according to policies developed by St. John’s United in accordance with state and federal regulations. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with Elders, family members, coworkers and other clinical support staffAbility to use critical thinking skills necessary toAbility to work independently and in a teamAbility to lift and manipulate heavy objectsAbility to understand and follow safety policies and proceduresAbility to use various health care supplies and equipment, including blood pressure devices, thermometers, wheelchairs, lifts, and oxygen suppliers, etc.Ability to understand and to contribute to Elder charts and care plansAbility to relate to and work with the ill, elderly, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times, combative people within the communityAbility to respond to Elder needs in a timely and professional manner, recognizing the Elder’s rightsAbility to deal with stressful situations (i.e. Death and Dying)PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Requires lifting, bending, walking, and standing for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally.WORKING CONDITIONS: Work involves some exposure to hazards, bloodborne pathogens, or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Normal health care environment.
