Job summary

The LPN position in Eugene, Oregon focuses on providing patient care under the direction of a Provider, including preparation for examinations and recording patient history and vitals.

Responsibilities include assisting with diagnoses, starting IV lines, administering fluids and meds per orders, wound care, injections, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination, records vitals and history, and provides treatment as applicable
• Assist in determining medical problems, initiates and maintains intravenous lines, administers fluids and medications as directed through provider orders
• Collaborate with providers and other medical staff when examining or treating patients, giving injections, removing sutures, and applying splints and dressings
• Authorize medication refills as per providers direction and provide prescription information to pharmacies
• Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
• Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
• Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
• Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
• Schedule patients for tests and follow-up appointments
• Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
• Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
• Perform other duties as assigned
