Job summary

In & Out Urgent Care in New Orleans seeks a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse. You will work 12-hour shifts during weekdays and 8-hour shifts on weekends, with potential locations shifts as needed.

You’ll assist in delivering care under the guidance of a Provider and Clinical Director, performing clinical and front/back office duties to create the best patient experience. The role requires a graduate LPN with LA licensure and BLS, strong communication and computer skills, and ability to work

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One-year full-time employment as a LPN preferred.
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts during the week and 8 hour shifts on the weekend, including holiday hours as needed, rotating weekends and able to work at other locations when needed.
• Detailed oriented with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write medical terminology.
• Great computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Support / provide patient care under supervision of Clinical Director and Provider.
• Take vital signs, collect samples, administer medications, ensure patient comfort.
• Triage, injections, phlebotomy, IVs, wound dressings, I&Ds, and pelvic exams as needed.
• Prepare charts for appointments and manage room setups for procedures.
• Enter information into the electronic medical record and communicate releases accurately.

We have positions available for Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse. You must have the ability to work 12 hour shifts during the weekdays and 8 hour shifts on weekends and willing to work at other urgent care locations when needed.

Our Licensed Practical Nurse work under the direction of a Provider and Clinical Director, assisting in the delivery of healthcare to our patients.

Our Licensed Practical Nurse are Multifunctional and perform a wide variety of duties with the main focus of giving our patients the best experience by performing Clinical, Back and Front Office duties.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform functions that support / provide patient care
• Works under the supervision of Clinical Director and Provider, performing duties such as taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medication, ensuring patient comfort, and reporting the status of their patients to the nurses
• Triage, vital signs, injections, phlebotomy, IV's, nebulizer treatments, EKG's, wound dressings, assist provider with lacerations, I & D's, Orthoglass splints, and pelvic exams
• Prepare charts for patient appointments as indicated by the type of visit and the reason for the appointment according to established practices and procedures
• Give medication as prescribed by the Provider
• Basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging the injured area
• Giving injections of medications and immunizations
• Entering information into the electronic medical record
• Ensure patients and their family members understand the release instructions
• Assess patient's reaction to medications
• Prepare the exam rooms and treatment rooms for examination of the patient and set up for procedures.
• Prepare charts and station records maintained which may include the following:
  • Lab, x-ray and DME forms are prepared upon request
  • Medication refills are processed according to clinic protocols
• Performing lab call backs
• Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location

Job Qualifications:
