Job Summary

The Scrub Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, licensed physician, or dentist, participates as part of the surgical/procedural team to meet patient needs in the Perioperative setting. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all patient, family, visitor, and staff interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse (RN) as directed.
• Prepare and administer medications, observe effects, and report reactions.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety through accurate counts and proper medication labeling.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain licensure and certifications.
• Respond promptly to emergent cases and supervise unlicensed personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of practical nursing.
• Provide documentation of IV therapy training if required by state regulations.
• Meet all state and regulatory requirements for practice.
