Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital is seeking an LPN to join the Endocrinology Clinic on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm with no nights or weekends.

You will provide phone triage, room patients, download blood glucose meters and pumps, and educate patients on injectable medicines and glucose meters. The ideal candidate has an MO and KS LPN license and experience with diabetes and pediatrics.

Qualifications

• Must hold MO and KS LPN license.
• Experience with diabetes and pediatric patients preferred.
• Will work in a blended clinic role with multiple providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients.
• Screen walk-in and telephone patients, provide education on injections and glucose meters.
• Assist with procedures, wound care and dressing changes.
• Work in a team atmosphere and autonomously as needed.
• May cover Medical Assistant duties when required.

The Opportunity:

Our Endocrinology clinic at the plaza is seeking a LPN to join their team! You will be working with a variety of providers and their patients, working in a blended role. You will be providing phone triage, assisting with rooming patients, downloading blood glucose meters and pumps, and educating patients on injectable medicines and glucose meters. Because you will not be assigned to one provider, the ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to different provider preferences. We are looking for a strong team player who is wiling to jump in and help when they see a need. Previous experience with blood glucose meters and pumps is preferred but not required.

In clinic setting:

• Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

• Responsible for screening walk-in patients, telephone screening (with protocols), medication/injection education, assist with procedures, cleaning wounds, dressing changes, suctioning, catheter insertion, tracheostomy care, biopsies, diabetic nail care, and other duties as assigned by respective clinic .

• Able to work in a team atmosphere, as well as, autonomously.

• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. Delegates tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel UAP in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.

• May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties as needed
