Job summary

Mercy Springfield is seeking an experienced LPN for our Emergency Department. The role uses the nursing process to deliver patient care under supervision of licensed staff and coordinates with other departments in a fast-paced trauma center.

Full-time days, mids, and nights with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Mercy offers tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance, health/dental/vision coverage after day one, and a supportive workplace with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Must have hospital-based experience. Preferred one year Emergency Department experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or course within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV Certification must be completed or course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri.
• Other Certifications may be required upon hire.

• Provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision of licensed staff.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Contribute to a fast-paced Emergency Trauma Center environment.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.

• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

• Experience: Must have hospital-based experience. Preferred one year Emergency Department experience.

• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other Certifications may be required upon hire.

• Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds.
