Job summary

Decypher is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to deliver professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS certification, and a valid LPN/LVN license with at least one year of experience. U.S.

Citizenship is required for this position. Onsite, Monday through Friday, with day shifts and no overtime. Compensation up to $36.40 per hour plus health and welfare benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program approved by the State agency.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Valid, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in at least one state.
• One year of practical nurse experience after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and assist with treatments.
• Recognize urgent care situations and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Support complex diagnostic tests and monitor patient condition before, during and after procedures.
• Orient peers and staff to unit policies and promote a healthy work environment.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, applying nursing principles to assess, prepare, and assist with treatments and procedures in accordance with established clinical guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• License: Valid, unrestricted, LPN/LVN license at least 1 state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S
• Experience: One year of Practical Nurse experience after graduation.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
• Complete assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.
• Observe, identify, and respond to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care and patient/family education.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
• Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and Initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
• Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient’s condition before, during, and following the procedure.
• Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of
• practice.
• Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction

Work Environment & Schedule

Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm or 7:00am - 4:00pm with 1 hour lunch. No overtime.

Compensation & Benefits

• Up to $ 36.40 per hour + H&W

Physical requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation while providing direct patient care. Ability to safely assist with patient transfers, perform repetitive clinical tasks, and respond quickly in emergency situations is required.
