The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Department of Human Services at Clarks Summit State Hospital. You will provide skilled, compassionate care, assist with daily living activities, administer medications, and document accurately in line with facility guidelines.

This full-time role offers evening and night shifts with rotating weekends. A PA LPN license is required or must be obtained within one year if holding a temporary permit; residency requirements

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Must obtain licensure as an LPN within 1 year if holding a temporary permit.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

• Medication Management: Administer medications, maintain accurate records, and observe patient responses.
• Procedural Support: Prepare patients for procedures, collect specimens, and report changes in condition.
• Psychosocial Support: Interact with patients using therapeutic communication and assist with behavioral needs.
• Infection Control: Follow proper hygiene and sanitation practices to maintain a safe care environment.
• Documentation: Record patient information clearly and accurately following facility guidelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours:
  • 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
  • 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Rotating weekends, days off, and holiday schedule.
• Work schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime and travel as needed.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $ 68,914. 00 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Special Requirements

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
