Responsibilities

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, in accordance with Northside Hospital's philosophy, policies, and procedures. LPNs participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. They work under the supervision of Registered Nurses in designated clinical areas.

According to the National Association of Practical & Licensed Vocational Nurses (NALPN), “Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses are a specialized field representing the entry into the nursing practice profession.” LPNs work in diverse clinical settings alongside healthcare professionals as part of a collaborative team dedicated to improving patient function and ensuring health and safety. LPNs are also part of the Licensed Practical Nurse – Nursing Excellence Track Program (L-NEXT) at Northside Hospital, which offers opportunities for career advancement through expanded knowledge, expertise, continuing education, and specialty certification.

This position will be housed in Northside Hospital Cherokee Float Pool, supporting our Learning & Organization Development department.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Licenses, or Certifications Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience as an LPN.
• Additional Life Support certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) or other clinical specialty certifications may be preferred for specific units.
• Visual color acuity may be required depending on the role in specific units.

Work Hours:

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
