Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Bladenboro clinic in North Carolina. The role encompasses nursing care under supervision, supporting office and physician staff, and assisting patients with clinic functions.

The LPN will participate in patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring a safe environment and adherence to care plans. Minimum licensure and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure.
• English language proficiency and interpersonal skills; clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and meet physical requirements.

Summary

Major Job Functions

• Participates in assessment of patient
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care
• Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients
• Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s)

• Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately
• Maintains required competencies
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care
• Establishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staff
• Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen
• Actively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient services
• Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills Verbal and written skills required Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of the patients typically served
• Physical Requirements: Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs Visual acuity for observation of patients Long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material Must be able to lift 35 pounds
