Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide specialized care in our Behavioral Health unit. This full-time position involves working a 72-hour weekly schedule, including rotating 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide age-specific nursing care for mentally ill patients, adhering to Chapter 5100 of the M.H. Procedures Act, CMS, and CIHQ standards.
  • Lead or co-lead therapeutic groups and activities, and educate patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and revise patient care plans.
  • Observe, evaluate, and document patient conditions, providing relevant information to RNs.
  • Utilize knowledge of medical, surgical, and behavioral health nursing to deliver effective direct care.
  • Ensure compliance with IRMC policies, promoting quality and compassionate care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  • Assist with patient and family education initiatives.
  • Float across units including geropsych, adult, and adolescent units as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of med-surg or geriatric/behavioral health experience.
  • Current BLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.
