Job summary

Ocean Meadow Senior Living in Clinton, CT is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to administer medications for residents in accordance with federal and state regulations. You may assist with admissions assessments and documentation and help implement acute and long-term care plans and data collection.

Qualifications

• Licensed practical nurse in good standing or equivalent licensure.
• Experience with medication administration within long-term care settings.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations applicable to residents.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for medication administration for the residents in compliance with Federal & State regulations.
• May need to contribute for admissions of new residents to assist all admission assessments and documentation.
• May contribute to process of implementing acute and long-term care plans or service plans and/or the collection of data
• May be responsible for clinical system tracking under the direction of the director.
• Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
• Notify physicians and/or family members of any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation.
• Respond quickly to all emergencies
• Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members.
• Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
• Understand roll in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
• Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
• Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
