Job summary

Rite of Passage is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for Tuscaloosa Academy for Growth and Change (TAGC) in Tuscaloosa, AL to join the medical team in a secure residential program for at-risk female youth. The campus includes on-site school and medical facilities.

The LPN will administer immunizations, assist with TB screening and flu vaccines, and handle health maintenance for students and staff. Training staff on health care topics is also part of the job, along with ordering supplies and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current LPN licensure in Alabama.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug, TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
• Must meet requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide general health care for students within the scope of your license.
• Administer immunizations, TB screen, flu vaccines, and overall health maintenance.
• Train employees on health care topics such as prevention of sports injuries, blood borne pathogens, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral disorders.
• Assist in ordering supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other medical equipment for the Medical team.

What you will do

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a key member of the TAGC medical team, and provides for the general health care of students within the scope of your license. This may include administering immunizations, assisting with TB screen, flu vaccines, and the overall health maintenance of students and staff. As an LPN, you will also assist with training employees regarding relevant health care topics such as prevention of sports injuries, blood borne pathogens, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral disorders. This position assists in ordering supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other medical equipment for the Medical team.

To be considered you should

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• current LPN licensure in the state of Alabama is required
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
• Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
• Must meet the requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including having a valid Driver's License
