Job summary

Excelsior Orthopaedics, LLP in Amherst, NY is seeking an LPN to join our clinical operations team, providing support to providers and ensuring patients have a safe and positive experience in our busy practice.

You will perform duties across Express, Cast Room and pods, including cast applications/removals, wound care, vitals, chart updates, and patient education, while maintaining regulatory standards and coordinating follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS LPN License or ATC BOC certification.
• 2+ years experience in high-volume medical office rooming patients preferred, but not required.
• Experience in wound care, casting highly preferred.
• EMR knowledge required, MEDENT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clinical leadership to ensure smooth patient flow in the operational areas.
• Perform clinical duties in all areas including Express, Cast Room, and pods.
• Perform clinical duties such as the application and removal of casts, sutures, staples, braces.
• Perform wound care and deliver patient education.
• Respond to triages as needed or assigned in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Room patients, take vitals and history, update electronic medical chart as needed.
• Update and maintain patient medical records, including visit details, insurance and contact information.
• Service patient after visit with appropriate paperwork, schedule follow-up appointment, send out medical records as requested, and answer any patient inquiries.
• Maintain exam rooms to appropriate regulatory standards.
• Audit new patient charts.
• Work as a team to replenish exam room and clinical supplies, including office supplies for designated area.
• Train others as needed or directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

• Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
• Frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Extensive standing and walking required.
• Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Position requires full range of body motion including ability to position and move patients.
• Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards/physical risk.

The pay range for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidates years of experience, qualifications, training, licenses, designations, and the overall market conditions.
