North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide diverse nursing activities, support the medical care plan, and maintain accurate patient records. You will contribute to the nursing care plan and educate patients and families for discharge planning.

The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to delegate to nursing staff, and a commitment to professional interaction with the team and patients.

Qualifications

• Must meet continuing education requirements.
• Maintains knowledge to provide care for adolescent, newborn/infant, adult and geriatrics.
• Must organize and prioritize work assignments.
• Delegates assignments to nursing assistants and unit secretaries.
• Assist new employees in their orientation.
• Project a positive image of the unit to all customers.
• Maintain good working relationships with Medical Staff and all departments.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

Patient Care

• Provides a wide variety of nursing activities to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures.

Documentation

• Assist in maintaining patient records, unit records and reports.
• Contributes to nursing care plan.

Teaching

• Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge.
