Job summary

McLaren Port Huron, part of the McLaren Health Care system, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients under RN supervision. This full-time role supports the nursing process and collaborates within a patient-centered care team.

Responsibilities include contributing to assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of plans, and aiding unit operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program.
• Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse (LPN).
• BLS or Canadian Equivalent.

Position Summary:Provides direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron’s Values. Functions within a Team setting.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program
• Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse
• BLS and/or Canadian Equivalent

Preferred:

• One (1) year of experience in a medical setting
• One (1) year of experience in behavioral health
• Experience specific to the unit/position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan.
