Job summary

Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care within the LPN scope in a surgical clinic setting, supporting physicians and clinical staff to deliver safe, efficient care and maintain onboarding and workflow.

The LPN will perform clinical and administrative duties per licensure and policy to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license (NCBON).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and safety precautions.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care coordination.
• Administrative competency to support clinic operations.
• Strong professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Nursing care & clinical support within LPN scope.
• Perform patient assessments within LPN scope, documenting histories, allergies, medications, and vital signs.
• Prepare patients, rooms, equipment, and supplies for examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider and within LPN licensure.
• Assist with clinical procedures, wound care, suture/staple removal, specimen collection, and post-operative care.
• Coordinate surgery scheduling and ensure pre- and post-operative documentation.
• Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation and ensure billing/compliance alignment.
• Respond to patient calls and prescription requests per provider direction.
• Adhere to safety, compliance, and professional standards; PPE usage and patient transport support.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and inventory; support clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction initiatives.

The LPN performs both clinical and administrative duties consistent with state licensure and organizational policy to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Nursing Care & Clinical Support
• Perform patient assessments within LPN scope of practice, including documenting medical histories, allergies, medications, and vital signs
• Prepare patients, rooms, equipment, and supplies for examinations and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider and within LPN licensure
• Assist with clinical procedures, wound care, suture/staple removal, specimen collection, and post-operative care
• Communicate provider orders and aftercare instructions to patients

Surgical Coordination & Care Continuity

• Coordinate surgery scheduling and ensure completion of pre-operative and post-operative documentation
• Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and surgical facilities
• Support follow-up care and patient compliance with treatment plans

Clinical Workflow & Documentation

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential EMR documentation
• Ensure documentation supports appropriate billing and regulatory compliance
• Respond to patient calls and prescription requests per provider direction
• Recognize and respond to emergencies according to clinic policy

Operational & Administrative Support

• Assist with prior authorizations, task management, and clinic workflow coordination
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and inventory in a compliant and organized condition
• Support clinic efficiency, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction initiatives

Safety, Compliance & Professional Standards

• Adhere to North Carolina Board of Nursing regulations, OSHA standards, universal precautions, and facility policies
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with safe patient transport and mobility
• Comply with all federal, state, and organizational regulations
