Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care for ill and/or injured residents at the Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, Florida. The role is full-time and involves med pass, health assessments, and coordination with the RN on duty.

Responsibilities include medication administration, provider referrals, emergency procedures, and maintaining secure medical records in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program.
• Active Florida LPN licensure required.
• One year of experience preferred, including EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care.

Responsibilities

• Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by policies and procedures in designated location(s).
• Under direction of the RN on duty and per standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick call.
• Refer inmates to providers when appropriate; assist with provider line; perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for orders.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; prepare exam room and equipment.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies as required.
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe HIPAA rules.

Education And Experience Requirements

• One (1) year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management
