Job summary

Bronx Park Rehabilitation & Nursing seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision in a nursing home/rehabilitation setting.

You will follow care plans, administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with the care team to ensure positive outcomes across multiple shifts. This role includes lifting patients and providing nutrition support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid LPN license in New York state.
  • Proficient in suture removal techniques.
  • Knowledge of dialysis procedures and equipment.
  • Experience in infant care and knowledge of developmental milestones.
  • CPR certification and airway management skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices.
  • Understanding of ophthalmology procedures and post-operative care requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift and transfer patients using proper body mechanics.
  • Experience in acute care settings, including monitoring patients and responding to emergencies.
  • Proficiency in administering tube feedings and monitoring nutritional status.
  • Knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and post-procedure care.

Job description

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities:
  • Following the care plan, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes
  • Assumes responsibility for assignments given, seeks supervision appropriately, and is accountable for his/her actions by performing within the limits of his/her education and experience
  • Performs basic nursing procedures such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and monitoring patient conditions.
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and performs nursing procedures and techniques within scope of practice.
  • Use equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently
  • Utilizes medical terminology to accurately document patient information
  • Lift and transfer patients safely using proper body mechanics
  • Provide acute care for patients with various medical conditions
  • Administer tube feedings and monitor nutritional status
  • Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures
