Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full‑time role in a skilled nursing setting in New York. You will administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, and support residents with daily activities in a compassionate, team‑oriented environment.

The role requires current BLS/CPR certification, the ability to supervise CNAs, and compliance with NYS health regulations; background checks and health screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred, ideally in skilled nursing, long-term care, subacute rehab, or geriatric care.
• Strong clinical skills in medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and supervise unlicensed personnel.
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and meet all NY state and facility health requirements (e.g., vaccinations, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes.
• Monitor and record vital signs, observe residents for changes in condition, and report significant findings to the supervising RN or physician promptly.
• Provide wound care, including dressing changes, and manage other treatments such as IV therapy, catheter care, tracheostomy care, and ostomy care.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform basic diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in residents’ medical records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other support staff as appropriate.
• Provide emotional support to residents and their families, and communicate effectively about care plans and health status.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while adhering to infection control protocols.

Summary

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor and assess residents' health status, reporting changes in condition to the RN, physician, and care team.
• Record and maintain accurate nursing documentation and electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide wound care, catheter care, tube feeding assistance, and other nursing procedures within the LPN scope of practice.
