Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for Hale Makua Health Services in Maui. This nonprofit facility provides compassionate, resident-centered care and offers an opportunity to join a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Geriatrics experience preferred.
• 2 Step TB clearance and health review.
• First Aid and CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per facility policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient diagnoses, plan of health, and status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Collaborates with physicians and therapy services to improve care.

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position

We're looking for passionate Licensed Practical Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's diagnoses, limitations, expectations, plan of health, and current status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Appraises the family, physician and others of changes/incidents.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a License Practical Nurse in the State of Hawaii.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
