Job summary

REM Community Services, part of the Sevita family, is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse in Huntington, WV. The role offers $20.40 per hour plus a $3,000 welcome bonus and opportunities to support individuals with brain injury, developmental disabilities, substance use, and behavioral challenges.

The position includes med administration, care documentation, staff oversight, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing or related field or graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• One year of experience working with the population served in a nursing capacity.
• Current state LPN or LVN license.
• Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
• CPR/FA, HIV/AIDS, BBP, ACT training or equivalent certifications as required by state licensing.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, individuals served, and families.
• Commitment to providing quality-of-life enhancing services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health conditions of individuals served and ensure quality services are provided.
• Administer medications, provide documentation, and oversee staff who administer medications.
• Provide prescriptive medical treatment as ordered by physicians and deliver personal care services.
• Conduct assessments and implement health-care services for each Individual Service Plan.
• Provide training to staff on universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
• Serve as liaison and advocate with other medical and professional service providers.
• Provide training for individuals on topics such as self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention, and smoking cessation.
