CareNow urgent care in Goose Creek, SC seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient care and clinic operations. You will perform vital signs, collect specimens, administer injections, and manage patient charts using the EHR system.

The role requires an accredited LPN program graduate and an active LPN license in the state of residency. BLS should be obtained within 30 days, and federal screening certifications within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN license in state of residency.
• 1+ year of clinical patient-care experience preferred.
• Experience with an EHR system is helpful.
• Ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of start.
• Ability to obtain federal Breath Alcohol and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs and administer IM injections.
• Manage patient charts, including history, documentation in the EHR, and chart audits.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and chart audits as needed.
• Maintain records of in-house and sent-out lab work and drug screens.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
• Follow occupational client preference cards and procedures.

In this role, you will:

• Perform clinical responsibilities such as taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Manage patient charts including collecting patient history, documenting EHR appropriately, and conducting regular chart audits.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
• Ensure the occupational client’s preference card is followed and occupational procedures are adhered to.

You should have:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing.
• Current Practical/Vocational nursing license in state of residency is required.
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is extremely helpful.
• The ability to obtain a BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
