Fulton County in Sandy Springs, GA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver prescribed medical treatment and patient care at the Adult Day Health Center. Associates Degree in Nursing or a related field supplemented by two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

The purpose of this classification is to perform duties related to providing prescribed medical treatment and patient care to County residents including collecting patient's specimens, administering therapeutic medication injections, completing nursing assessments, intervening in and managing crises, and tracking patients for immunization. Licensed Practical Nurse is distinguished from Licensed Practical Nurse, Senior in that the former does not supervise assigned staff but provides basic patient care to County residents, whereas the latter supervises assigned Licensed Practical Nurses and support staff in addition to providing patient care to County residents.

Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. Specific equipment includes computers and peripherals, scales, measuring boards, glucose machines, stethoscopes, ophthalmoscopes, otoscopes, medical equipment and supplies and pharmacology supplies.
Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information such as patient records, health and medical information, lab results, laws and regulations, protocols, policies and procedures and a variety of correspondence.
Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.
Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems.
Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
