Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. in Alabama seeks a compassionate nurse to provide medical services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role supports health plans, performs basic clinical tasks, and collaborates with Direct Support Professionals to meet each person's needs.

Candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, have a valid driver's license, and demonstrate basic computer skills. Prior Practical Nurse experience with the target population is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver's License with endorsements and have 3 years of driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Practical Nurse license for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing basic healthcare services according to the individual's plan.
• Perform tasks such as blood pressure monitoring and weight checks.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete per regulations.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of supplies and equipment; restock as needed.
• Collaborate with Direct Support Professionals to meet individuals' needs.
• Communicate any changes in medical or behavioral status to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose

To provide medical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills
• Must possess current and valid license for Practical Nurse Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred

Essential Functions

• Assists in providing basic healthcare services according to the individual's plan ensuring each individual's optimal health and wellbeing
• Performs tasks as delegated, such as blood pressure monitoring, weights, and other assigned tasks
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and complete according to regulations
• Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of supplies and equipment, ensuring restocking of inventory
• Collaborates with Direct Support Professionals to ensure that the needs of the individuals are being met
• Communicates immediately any changes in medical or behavioral status to supervisor
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Hourly: $32.00 SR97A2
