The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide ambulatory care under orders from licensed practitioners and guidance from the RN in charge.
Responsibilities include administering medications, immunizations, vital signs, documentation in the EMR, and supervising certified nursing assistants on-site in Charlottesville, VA. Virginia licensure and BLS certification are required; on-site work only.
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible for carrying outpatient care in accordance with licensed independent practitioner's orders, under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse in charge. They administer ordered medications and treatments, observe and record effects of medications, and observe and report patient reactions to treatments or any unusual conditions. Work is largely routine and done according to established protocols, with some supervision.
Job may require standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The anticipated hiring range is $24 - $32/hour, commensurate with education and experience.
