Job summary

Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh seeks a licensed plumber to repair and maintain water, sewer, and gas lines in housing units, and to install faucets and hot water heaters in accordance with plumbing codes.

Position requires a high school diploma or GED, journeyman-level experience or approved apprenticeship, and a valid Allegheny County plumbing license with PA driver’s license. Travel to Authority properties is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for entry.
• Journeyman plumber license (Allegheny County) required or completed apprenticeship.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and unclogs sewers, drains, faucets, and fixtures in housing units.
• Installs new plumbing fixtures and ensures compatibility with layout.
• Orders replacement or repair supplies as needed.
• Installs and repairs water heaters for apartments.
• Repairs gas lines and tests for leaks with gauges.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
