What you’d do as a Licensed Plumber
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
- Diagnosing and resolving plumbing issues like leaks and blockages.
- Cutting, threading, and assembling pipes using methods like welding, soldering, or gluing.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints to plan installations and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with other trades (e.g., electricians, HVAC technicians) on larger projects.
- Responding to emergency calls and providing timely, effective solutions.
- Communicating with clients to explain repairs, address inquiries, and ensure satisfaction.
- Recommending and performing preventive maintenance to avoid future issues.
Requirements
Education & Licensing
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid North Carolina Plumbing License preferred. Don’t have one yet? Apply as a plumbing technician, and we’ll help you achieve your goal!
Experience & Skills
- At least 3 years of practical plumbing experience (commercial experience preferred).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations, with a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license for travel to job sites.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and working in various conditions.
