Job summary

HES is a premier national provider of facilities management services focused on educational institutions, seeking a licensed plumber for Albany State facilities maintenance. You will perform plumbing repairs and installations, inspect and coordinate with vendors, and maintain building systems to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires a current plumbing license, ability to perform related trades, and flexibility to rotate shifts.

Qualifications

• Active plumbing license required.
• Ability to perform plumbing repairs/installations on sinks, fixtures, valves and water coolers.
• Knowledge of repairing electrical outlets and light fixtures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive electronic, verbal or written work orders and complete tasks.
• Record start/finish times and add notes via cell phone.
• Perform plumbing repairs/installations of sinks, toilets, valves and water coolers.
• Measure, cut, thread and prepare piping for replacement or new installations.
• Perform minor electrical and carpentry duties as needed.
• Conduct Daily Routine Building inspections and report findings.
• Repair or replace electrical outlets; update lighting as needed.
• Maintain buildings in good operating condition; replace stained ceiling tiles after leaks.
• Oversee outside vendors when necessary and coordinate material needs.
• Obtain materials from warehouse and secure supplies for tasks.
• Observe and report safety issues to Facilities Manager/Director.
• Suggest improvements to methods and procedures to supervisor.
• Collaborate with other trades within Facilities Maintenance and rotate shifts as required.
• Familiarize self with department policies and systems.

Essential Accountabilities: 1. Receives electronic (cell phone), verbal or written instructions to complete work order (WO) assignments on routine or emergency basis. 2. Records start and finish time, provides comments in cell phone specific to actions at job site and in keeping with department policy. 3. Perform various plumbing repairs/installations of sinks, commodes, valves and water coolers. Replace damaged water lines, freeing of clogged drainage systems. 4. Ability to measure, cut, thread and prepare piping for replacement or new installations. 5. Ability to perform other duties such as: minor electrical repairs, minor carpentry repairs. 6. Performs Daily Routine Building (DRB)inspections reporting findings electronic (cell phone), verbal or written instructions to complete work order (WO) assignments on routine or emergency basis. Other Accountabilities: 1. Repair or replace electrical outlets. Change/replace lighting fixtures or tubes/bulbs. 2. Repair/replace broken electrical switches when necessary. 3. Perform minor drywall repairs, adjust door hardware and latches to perform properly. 4. Perform all general duties to maintain buildings in good operating condition. 5. Replace stained ceiling tiles upon repair of any leaks. 6. Oversee outside vendors when necessary. 7. Obtain from warehouse any necessary materials as needed to complete tasks. 8. Secure needed supplies or equipment from maintenance shops and notify proper person of any additional supplies or equipment needs. 9. Observe and report any unusual or emergency situations to the Manager or Director of Facilities Operations 10. Make recommendations to immediate supervisor about how methods and procedures may be improved. 11. Work with other trades within the Facilities Maintenance Department as needed to complete repairs or projects. 12. Rotate as necessary to cover various shifts as schedule requires by the Facilities Maintenance Department. Department Specific Competencies: 1. Familiarize self with Department policies and procedures. 2. Become familiar with CWF property, Blocks and Buildings and systems. 3. Work safely, be knowledgeable with all Department Safety Policies and attentive to all safety talks, special instructions and posted safety signs throughout the work area.
