Valley Health in Mount Jackson, Virginia area is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant for home health services. Under supervision of a physical or occupational therapist, you will support skilled patient care, document in electronic records, and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.

As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), the employee supports the overall mission and vision of Valley Health by providing high‑quality, best‑practice services to customers. The PTA may be employed in a home‑health setting, and under the direction of a supervising physical or occupational therapist, is an active interdisciplinary team member. The PTA supports treatment to address skilled and medically necessary patient needs and provides discipline‑specific, therapist‑guided interventions to improve safety and functional independence through the rehabilitation process. Feedback from the PTA is critical to recommend patient progression through the continuum of care and to maintain discipline‑specific competence. The PTA is mindful of fiduciary responsibilities and delivers services efficiently while complying with licensure, documentation, and billing guidelines. The home health agency relies heavily on technology; email is a primary means of communication, and the PTA will use a laptop to complete documentation in an electronic record. The patient population varies widely across spectrums of acuity, age, and diagnosis. The employee also maintains a working knowledge of departmental, hospital, and organizational initiatives and updates, staying current with communications such as email in a professional and timely manner.

Pay Range: $23.43 – $35.15 per hour
Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required; CNA or equivalent training preferred.
New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Basic computer and keyboarding skills; participation in computer training within the first year of employment is expected. Competence in interacting with patients, including age‑specific competencies, and proficiency in providing discipline‑specific interventions is required.
