Job summary

OakBend Medical Center in Sugar Land, TX seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to implement treatment plans under the supervision of Rehab Services Director and a PT.

You will collaborate with PTs, assistants and aides, apply various therapy modalities, document progress, and ensure high quality patient care for all ages.

Minimum education: PTA program graduate; Texas PTA license or eligibility; BLS certification; prior PT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in Physical Therapy preferred.
• REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Eligible for or licensed by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Basic Life Support certification required through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.
• REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of regulations, QA and procedures, and quality patient care. Successful completion department specific and/or hospital required training courses. Must be able to treat patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Director of Rehab Services and Physical Therapist, to provide various methods of Physical Therapy according to patient treatment plan.
• To serve as a resource person for PT's, PT Assistants, and PT Aides.
