Job summary

West Boca Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Staff Therapist Assistant to deliver therapy services to patients under licensed supervision. This per diem role supports PT/OT/SLP plans and requires timely documentation and collaboration with the care team.

Qualified candidates will hold an OTA/PTA/SLPA associate degree, Florida licensure, and BLS, with CCC in progress for CFY. This position emphasizes patient-centered care and compliance with all policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• BLS approved by the AHA.
• Associate's degree in OTA, PTA, or SLPA.
• Licensed by Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
• CCC or documentation that you are in the process of completing CCC, in the case of CFY SLPA.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care developed by the PT, OT, or SLP, and document treatment within 24 hours of visit.
• Delivery of treatment is effective/appropriate and corresponds to the plan of care.
• Update PT, OT, SLP, or Director on changes in patient status.
• Document treatment and progress on time.
• Ensure paper documentation is legible.
• Minimize documentation errors.
• Provide patient care in accordance with department policies, rules, regulations, and laws.

The Staff Therapist Assistant shall demonstrate the clinical ability to provide therapy services to patients with various diagnoses as prescribed by a licensed physician. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• 1. Follows the plan of care developed by the PT, OT, or SLP, and documents treatment within 24 hours of visit, per department policy.
• 2. Delivery of treatment is effective/appropriate and corresponds to the plan of care
• 3. The PT, OT, SLP, or Director is updated on changes in patient status.
• 4. Documentation of treatment and progress is completed on time.
• 5. Documentation on paper is legible.
• 6. Documentation errors are very rare.
• 7. Patient care is performed within department policies and in accordance with rules, regulations, code of ethics, guidelines and codes in federal, state and local laws concerning professional practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Licensure/Certifications
BLS approved by the AHA. Associate's degree in OTA, PTA, or SLPA. Licensed by Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) or documentation that you are in the process of completing CCC, in the case of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) SLPA.

Minimum Experience
Required - none.
Desired – One year or more.
