Job summary

Restore Therapy Services is seeking a Physical Therapist (Full Time) in the West Melbourne area to provide therapy services per physician plans and supervise therapy assistants. The role emphasizes assessment of strength, mobility, gait and ROM, and education for patients and families.

The candidate must hold a PT degree accredited by the APTA, a current state license, strong communication, and computer skills. Some travel may be required; CPR certification is required for outpatient positions.

Qualifications

• Possesses a degree from a bachelor’s or Master’s program in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Hold a valid and current license to practice physical therapy in state employed.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
• Familiarity with computer use including internet, e-mail, and confidentiality of user names and passwords.
• Must be a licensed driver with an insured vehicle; some travel may be required.
• Must be capable of performing job functions with or without accommodation.
• If applying for Outpatient position, possess active AHA CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to patients according to a physician’s written plan of care.
• Assesses muscle strength, mobility, gait, ROM, and participates in care planning.
• Directs physical therapy treatment and instructs patients and families on therapy goals.
• Maintains contact with other care staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Supervises physical therapy assistants per policy and state regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
